Hello Laura & The Team

Firstly we would just like to start off by saying how stunning Quantock Lakes is as a venue, we have received so many comments from both guests and friends who weren’t at the wedding (but have seen photos) who have said how it is simply beautiful.

We can not fault our whole experience of getting married at Quantock Lakes. From first meeting you to the wedding day itself.

We loved the fact you stayed late on the Sunday so Josh could come and visit the venue, it was lovely for you to do that. We both felt very relaxed around you. We enjoyed the fact that you didn’t do the ‘hard sale’ and just guided us of what our day could include.

We loved our wedding planning meetings, it was amazing to get to come to the venue numerous times before the big day to help make our thoughts and ideas into a reality. Every time we came, we felt so welcomed and as if we could spend hours there. We never felt rushed or as if you had another appointment after us. Plus it was lovely to have a good cup of tea every time.

Family and friends who stayed in the accommodation were blown away by how lovely and homely it is (and how much yummy food you provide). My Dad would love to buy the Wagon House haha. Having the accommodation the night before meant family who hadn’t met got to meet before the wedding. It helped us all relax and enjoy each other’s company before the big day.

We love the fact we could come and dress the venue on Friday. In fact that was one my favourite part of planning. You and Lynsey kept us both very calm. It was also lovely of the Owner to take the time to chat to my Mother in law on the Friday.

And of course the big day !! We can not fault Lynsey she made us feel so calm and relaxed. We knew that we where in good hands so didn’t worry about any of the details. We just enjoyed our day.

We honestly had the most amazing day and a big part of that happening was the venue and everyone who works at the venue.

We can not thank you all enough for helping us plan and have our dream wedding in 4 months.

Civil Ceremonies

Your Civil Ceremony at Quantock Lakes

In the heart of our Somerset wedding venue stands the Rustic Barn, set within beautiful grounds with seemingly panoramic scenery. It is here in Quantock Lakes oldest building that we are licensed to hold civil ceremonies.

With natural light, wooden beams and exposed stone walls, this distinctive barn can host traditional aisle ceremonies as well as intimate gatherings around the window, looking out over breathtaking views of the Quantock Hills.

In warm weather the French doors allow guests to spill out through the honeysuckle archway after the ceremony. For winter ceremonies, the traditional wood burner creates a romantic, warm atmosphere for you and your guests.

We cannot believe it is now over 3 months ago that we married at the beautiful Quantock Lakes, time is flying by.

We had the perfect Wedding Day and experience from start to finish, so a massive thank you to you all.

Quantock Lakes was the most amazing venue for our special day, it is such a beautiful place and really captured our Wedding dreams and how we saw it to be.

The laughter and giggles we had on the build up meetings to the Wedding Day itself made us both feel so relaxed and comfortable about the whole process, you really do have a great team working there. We used to look forward to our meetings with excitement of catching up with the girls, either Laura, Nadine or Lynsey and each time we visited it never failed to deliver, we would have fun but also leave feeling happy and satisfied that everything was under control to ensure we would have the best Wedding Day... and we did.

We cannot thank Nadine enough for her support and guidance on the build up and on the big day, she was a true star and the day wouldn’t have been such a success without her.

The day just feels like a blur, but a truly happy one. People say the day flys by, and it really does, blink and it’s all over but we wouldn’t have changed it for the world.

We had a lovely girls night the evening before in the Wedding Village at Quantock Lakes which was the perfect start to our special occasion, it was the perfect place for us all to chill, let our hair down and have a few bubbles ready for the morning ahead. I was lucky enough to be at the accommodation for the morning of the big day to get ready, which was truly lovely.

We couldn’t believe our luck when we woke to glorious sunshine, someone was looking down on us. We all had a lovely morning doing makeup, hair, flowers and all the other girlie bits to make ourselves look beautiful for the day ahead.

It was lush to be able to have my family join me before the ceremony in the accommodation for some breakfast and to take in the day before us.

The ceremony was beautiful, perfect in every way. Nadine did a fantastic job of sorting the logistics to ensure we didn’t see each other beforehand and it was worth it to see my beautiful bride for the first time walking down the aisle, what a moment, one that takes your breath away. From there the day just continued to impress, everything went to plan, the food was incredible, everyone has commented on how much they enjoyed it, and to finish with music, drinks, dancing, and laughter, we couldn’t have had a happier Wedding Day.

Nadine was in control of everything, she even saved us some scrummy food and set up a private changing room in the for our sneaky costume change, there was nothing more we could have asked for, she is a true credit.

We woke up the morning after, fairly early, and took a walk back over to the venue to take it all in, it was so peaceful and a really special moment for us. It was lovely to catch up with Laura in the morning, she really made us smile to be able to share our excitement from the day before and express our happiness.

It is really hard to put into words what a wonderful day we had but just to say a massive thank you to all at Quantock Lakes for the most perfect day, we wouldn’t have changed it.

I could write for hours and hours about all the little details but worry I may have already gone on for too long.

One final note is to say that many of our guests have said that it was the best Wedding they have been to, such amazing feedback for us but also for Quantock Lakes as without the beautiful venue, incredible staff, amazing food and the whole package that comes with a Wedding at Quantock Lakes it wouldn’t have been the special and memorable day we achieve.
